Prince William is scheduled to attend the United Nations climate conference in Brazil next month, as confirmed by palace sources.

Prince William and King Charles appeared together on Thursday evening at a reception ahead of the environmental conference, which is set to be held in the Amazonian city of Belém.

The royal pair were present at the scientific institution event, marking an unusual joint appearance at a environmental conference preliminary meeting co-hosted by the United Kingdom administration.

Climate Leadership Dedication

King Charles has been a consistent supporter of environmental conservation - and Prince William has assumed the responsibility, with his own Earthshot awards, which will be held in Brazil before the UN meeting.

Royal sources have portrayed Prince William's attendance at the forthcoming conference as stepping up an significant responsibility in "climate diplomacy".

The King and Prince of Wales, making a joint entrance in the official car, were greeted attendees such as environmentalists, scientists, climate change campaigners, foreign representatives and government officials.
