Helicopter Spins Wildly into Palm Trees at Frequented Southern California Beach
A chopper hovering over a popular California shoreline abruptly began spiraling out of control, ultimately dropping height and plunging into a cluster of palm trees as beachgoers observed.
Videos posted online capture the aircraft starting to spin over the beach then falling in the direction of the perimeter of the coast, where it ends up lodged among palm groves and a staircase near the Pacific Coast highway.
First Aid Information
The Huntington Beach fire department reported five persons were rushed to the hospital including two individuals who were in the chopper and were “extracted safely from the crash site” following the crash on the weekend.
Three individuals on the pavement were hurt. Specifics on their condition were not yet released.
The reason for the accident was not yet disclosed.
Planned Function
The department said the aircraft was connected to an annual “Cars N Copters” charity gathering planned for Sunday.
