Disturbing Recording Reveals Moment Police Are Stabbed in Ambush

Both Senior Officers Moments Prior to the Attacker Received Electric Shock

A senior officer who rushed to the assistance of a fellow officer that was assaulted by a knifeman has been awarded the Monarch's Honor for Bravery.

Sgt Tim Ansell fought with 27-year-old Jacob Brown after he pressed a weapon to the throat of his fellow officer Sgt Marc Foster.

Brown launched his attack as the officers and their partner, PC Marcus Wolstencroft, were talking to a motorist following a vehicle incident in that location in summer 2023.

Brown attacked with blade both Sgt Ansell and Sgt Foster before PC Wolstencroft stunned him with a Taser.

"Policeman stabbed," the officer was heard to say over his radio.

Bodyworn and dashboard camera recording released by the agency depicted Brown, that was clothed in dark clothing with a hood covering head, run up to Sergeant Foster from the rear with a knife extended.

He struck the officer who tripped and dropped to the ground, before Sgt Ansell intervened and struggled to restrain him to the floor even though being continually attacked with the weapon.

Police Constable Wolstencroft Incapacitated the Attacker, Jacob Brown, with a Electric Weapon

Police Constable Wolstencroft pulled his stun gun and sought a clear shot, bringing the struggle to an finish.

Sergeant Ansell stated audibly: "I need assistance on my throat here, I got knifed in the throat."

Sgt Ansell sustained multiple open wounds to his throat and more wounds to his limbs and body, while Sergeant Foster experienced slash wounds.

The department stated Sergeant Foster used his bare hands to control his partner's blood loss before medical personnel reached the scene.

The new recognition arrives after the three officers received internal Bravery Awards in October 2023 and the prestigious bravery honor from the regional union branch in early 2024.

They further earned a Area Bravery Award in July 2024.

"The responses of each policeman in the end protected themselves and meant no bystanders endured any harm."

Brown was given to an indefinite hospital order in spring 2024, per officials.
