Christantus Uche Fuels Straightforward Palace Win at Shelbourne.
Even though embarking on their maiden European adventure, Crystal Palace are adapting at a rapid pace. Missing key players like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles left Dublin with a commanding result that all but secures them a place in the Conference League qualifying rounds.
A further three points in their upcoming fixture against Finland's KuPS should be sufficient to seal direct passage to the last 16, particularly after a prior stumble against Strasbourg.
Squad Members Grasp the Opportunity
This match provided a platform for some of Palace's lesser-used players to shine. Christantus Uche, making only his second start after arriving on loan from Getafe, notched the account with a well-taken finish. Forward Eddie Nketiah added a another, scoring for the second consecutive succession.
The Shelbourne side that had finished their domestic season proved no match against a largely rotated Palace lineup. The visitors were already depleted by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are out with knee problems.

Despite torrential rain in Dublin, Palace rapidly took control. A flowing passing sequence in the 11th minute, initiated by Daichi Kamada's incisive pass, let Nketiah to lay on Uche for a simple tap-in.
Midfielder Adam Wharton came close soon after, fizzing a long-range effort over the bar. Nketiah then claimed for a penalty after racing into the area, but the official dismissed the appeals.
The formerArsenal man did not have wait long to find his goal, tapping home from a yard out after Uche's shot had struck the post.
Shelbourne were hanging on desperately. Defender Kameron Ledwidge was fortunate to avoid a booking for a couple of robust tackles on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards struck the crossbar with a powerful header from a corner.

The match was effectively over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past a series of comically weak challenges before calmly slotting a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.
Following the break, manager Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to withdraw several players like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse almost scoring his very first touch, but saw his effort blocked.
Esse was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one shot crash off each posts before being clasped on the line. Uche then missed a glaring chance, indicating there is still room for improvement in his game.
The only concern for Palace was a late injury to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This allowed 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to make his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect evening for the visiting side.
