Area Law Enforcement
Approximately fifty vehicles have been smeared with what seems to be human blood in the Germany's municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Vehicles, exterior walls and postal boxes were defaced, in some cases with swastikas, they stated in a release.
Police say they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a individual observed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a reddish liquid.
The substance had been applied in the form of a swastika, they added.
Police then found many other smeared automobiles and house walls in the surrounding area.
Swastikas are illegal in Germany under legislation prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement state preliminary tests indicate the liquid was likely human bodily fluid.
"Currently there is no indication as to where it came from; investigators are presently not informed of any harm in connection with the event," they commented.
Municipal representatives stated they were attempting "to unravel the case" and have asked to the public for tips.
An important official stated the incident left him without words and needed to be addressed promptly.
"This event strikes at the center of Hanau and reopens the pain of the right-wing attack half a decade ago," he stated on online, mentioning the death of nine victims by a gunman focusing on people of foreign heritage in 2020.
