"As a reaction to this significant improvement, the tobacco sector is fighting back with novel nicotine products, forcefully aiming at young people. Governments must take action more rapidly and more forcefully in implementing established tobacco-control measures," the official further stated.
The vaping figures are an estimate since numerous nations - 109 in total, and several in Africa and Southeast Asia - fail to collect statistics.
Based on the report, as of this past February this year, at bare minimum 86 million e-cigarette individuals were grown-ups, mostly in high-income countries.
And at least 15 million youth aged 13 and 15 currently engage in vaping, based on studies from 123 nations.
